Question: What are After Market DVDs?
I emailed a rare movie dealer on line (waltdisneydvds.com) and asked them how they could supply “genuine” disney dvds i.e. “Beauty and the Beast” without any affiliation from Disney. After checking the BBB website I see that they were rated a C-. I have since decided not to purchase from them bc BATB is coming out of the vault next year and their site does not offer a “genuine guaranteee”. They emailed me back and told me that the DVDs are “after market” imports from Canada and they told me that most vendors who sell old or “vaulted” Disney Movies usually do this. I looked up after market dvds but found nothing. What are they and how are they different. This website smells like a scam and I will not be doing business with them. Im just trying to get all of the classic Disney movies for my daughter and she is missing a few that wont be sold again for a few years. Oh and I know that they are NOT overstock or wholesale movies, Disnay has NEVER sold warehouse overstock EVER…they have no problems selling movies.

I think they are referring to DVD’s that were previously used as rentals.

Question: Name for “second hand” real estate market in English?
Hi. Here in Russia they usually divide (not fully ofc, but well, somewhat distinctly) two real estate markets: “first” or “first hand” that deals with newly built houses for sale or apartment complexes that have apartments for sale, and “second”/”second hand” that deals with apartments and houses resold by previous owners. What is the proper name for “second hand” real estate in English? Short one, like for a checkbox on a website.

Hello,
In America we have two categories of real estate. Residential (single family residence) of 1-4 units and Commercial.
Residential has new, resale, apartments, rentals, duplex, condo, townhouse and four-plex.
Commercial includes apartments of 5 units or more. In different states this can also be co-ops, senior housing, timeshares and multi-units. Commercial also includes business complexes, industrial and distribution.
A good website for properties for investment is loopnet.com. You can review and gather information
Please contact me with any other questions or assistance I can give you.

Question: Anyone have any strategies to using the “market edge” system?
They seem to have a lot of information and leave it up to the user to determine how to use it. The data seems conflicting sometimes as well. They email out a list of short sale candidates, but when you look up 2nd opinion they are not stated as short sale candidates.
The “market” may have a bearish reading, but still some stocks are rated “long” or “best-long”. The email has stocks w/ a buy rating, but the message at the top says that the market is bearish and limit investments to short sale candidates.
Help!!!

Question: Does the “Writer’s Market” book contain email-addresses for the publishers and agents listed?
I’m trying to sell my novel, and I much prefer sending email queries because I hate wasting ink/paper. I want to know if buying Writer’s Market is worth it to me- does it just list the agents’ addresses, or does it also list their email addresses?
Actually, judging from the websites of the agents’ websites I’ve already found, a lot of them are starting to prefer email.

Yes.
However, the VAST MAJORITY of publishers and agents DO NOT accept email queries. Fair or not, it is considered unprofessional and marks you as an amateur.
It will be deleted in the blink of an eye.
If you’re serious about publishing, do it right. Take the time to print out a hard copy of your query and/or manuscript, package it neatly, and send it out.

Question: Is there a free website where I can list my entire investment portfolio, and compare it to “the market”?
I already know where I can compare individual mutual funds to the top 3 indices (S&P, Dow, Nasdaq). Where can I see how my ENTIRE portfolio AS A WHOLE has performed over a particular period of time, and compare it to how either the three indices, or “the market” (whatever people mean by “the market”) has performed during that period?

I think http://www.top10traders.com is exactly what you are looking for – it’s free- and you can see how your portfolio performs compared to other investors.

Hi there,
I recently did a review on this product and have to tell you the truth. These are $ 20-$ 30 bottles of juice with no proven health benefits. It’s an all natural product and no FDA approval for specific health claims. It’s also priced too high to sell during a recession and that’s what the US market it going through right now.
I know this isn’t the answer you want to hear, but it’s the truth. This kind of product is the most difficult to market in today’s economic climate compared to others. If you had a brick and mortar business like a health food store in an affluent area, or a juice bar at a health club, then you’d have the chance to move some product at this price range.
I remember the dot com boom when people were throwing money literally out the window at everything online, but it isn’t that way anymore. It’s overpriced, there’s no health claims since it has no active ingredients, and that makes for the toughest of sells when it comes to these kinds of economic times.
I know people who have tried these kinds of products. The way they get customers is usually by the reseller program, who are afraid to cancel because they are invested in it, even if their house is full of juice, they can’t let go of it. This is what they are counting on, and it’s how many MLM’s make their money, by the auto order, not by retailing the product itself.
I wish I had better news about this type of product, but I don’t. We’ve done over 800 reviews of Internet businesses and I’ve seen a lot of these before and know this problem with them. If you want to call me at 813-908-3138 I’ll be happy to talk to you about it. I don’t give out links when it comes to this kind of thing, I’ll help if you want to call though.
To be honest, if this was the Clinton administration where people were spending money hand over fist (and I remember those days) then I’d say go for it. The problem is the economy and anything overpriced doesn’t sell. The effort just isn’t worth it compared to recession proof businesses.
